… Hellner participated in the main event of the 2010 World Series of Poker

...he grew up in the south of Sweden but moved to the World cup town Gällivare in the north of Sweden to have better training possibilities.

… did a roller ski duel with his friend Petter Northug in conduction with the Bislett Games in Oslo. “When we have race number on the chest, we are competitors, but Peter and I are good friends off the track,” said Marcus Hellner about the alleged rivalry between the two ski kings after the race which was won by Northug.

… his goal for next year is the overall World Cup and of course the Tour de Ski.

…Hellner, who is by nature a calm person, is one of the people who can give it all but then can even go beyond his limits in the races. That is also what he did in Gällivare where he celebrated his first World Cup victory collapsing after the finish line because he had pushed himself so hard. The award ceremonies even had to be delayed because of him. “It was a tough race and at the end it felt like going into a tunnel with the audience and everything,” he commented afterwards.

… his hobbies are poker, hunting, fishing…
