Johaug stepped into the international circuit with a big bang...in January 2007 at the age of 18, she finished third at the Norwegian Championships in Skiathlon and was therefore nominated to go to Otepää a week later to compete in her first World Cup where she took the 8th spot....this result again allowed her to take part in the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships where she captured bronze over 30 km in classical technique...right after she went to the Junior World Ski Championships in Tarvisio and scored a third place finish in Skiathlon...back in the World Cup, Johaug concluded the season with her first podium which was a third place in Falun at the end of March 2007...in 2008, Johaug stunned everyone with a triple success in Malles at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships winning the 5 km, 10 km and the team relay competition...at the 2009 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships she finished 3 times among in top 6 and a year later at her first Olympics Johaug became the Olympic Champion in relay and made two top seven spots….in 2011, Johaug won World Champion title over 30 km Free and in relay on home soil in Oslo and won the bronze medal in skiathlon.Just a week after her great victory in Oslo she captured her first World Cup victory in Lahti in skiathlon.
