When Charlotte Kalla was 7 years old her grandfather took her to train at the local ski club...she appeared at the international circuit at the 2006 FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Kranj where she won the Skiathlon race, took the bronze medal in 5 km classic and finished fourth in sprint..her World Cup debut followed in Changchun in 2006... a year later Kalla scored her first World Cup podium at the beginning of the season in Beitostoelen with the third place and took part at the World Championships in Sapporo where her best individual result was a 5th place over 10 km...the FIS Junior World Championships followed and she claimed victory in Skiathlon as well as 5 km and finished second in sprint... in 2008 she won the FIS Tour de Ski...at the World Championships in Liberec she finished third in relay and sixth in sprint...her greatest success came in 2010 at the Winter Olympics where she became the Olympic Champion over the 10 km Free and took the silver medal in team sprint with Anna Haag…in 2011, Kalla claimed victory together with Ida Ingemarsdotter in team sprint at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo and took the silver medal in relay.

This summer she competed in O-Ringen (previously called the “Swedish 5 days”), which is an orienteering competition that takes place annually in different areas of Sweden with participants from all over the world. Kalla competed in two stages of the event and scored one first and one second place.
… in the forthcoming season Charlotte Kalla wants to repeat the success in the FIS Tour de Ski but she knows it’s going to be harder than ever. “There are several skiers who are strong in both techniques and in various distances. I also have more expectations this time,” said the Olympic champion, from Whistler in 2010 and World champion in the team sprint from 2011 to Radiosporten.
”But I'm very eager to succeed again. When I won the Tour de Ski for the first time it was my real breakthrough in the elite,” she says.
