Zeller was the first time on skis at the age of 3....she started competing in 1996...in 1999 Zeller raced her first FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships and finished second in relay...in December 1999, she had her World Cup debut, which was a sprint race in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER)... she won the overall OPC Cup in 2006 and competed in the Tour de Ski and the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2006/2007 ...In the 2008 FIS Tour de Ski she finished in the top ten for the first time placing 9th and taking her first World Cup podium in Lahti with the third place in the 15 km classic... just a week after she claimed victory in the Engadin Ski Marathon...at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, Zeller claimed her first medal with the second place in relay...a year later at her first Olympic Games she was part of the silver relay team from Germany…in 2011 she took the 5th place in relay at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo and finished twice in top 16 at individual races ( 12th Mass start, 16th skiathlon).

...she grew up on a farm in Rubi, close to Oberstdorf with her parents Monika and Alois and her younger sister, Marion. The Cross-Country courses of Oberstdorf/Rubi were just outside her home: “I was watching how the ski tourists tried to ski the short downhill part and mostly were not able to manage and eventually crashed. I wanted to make it better,” Therefore she started with Cross-Country skiing.

... she had tough back problems since the season 2003/2004 but after an intensive treatment in 2005 it has been better.
…her goal for the upcoming season is in firstly Tour de Ski: “My aim is it to reach the top ten at the Tour,” said Katrin Zeller. “ But also I want to achieve good results in the World Cup to reach the top 15 in the overall World Cup.”
