Marit Bjoergen and Christoph Eigenmann romped to victory in 200 m free Kirkebakken Grand Prix at Hamar last weekend. Almost 4.000 spectators gathered downtown Hamar to cheer for their heroes.
The queen of the FIS Nordic World Championships 2011 and the defending World Cup winner Marit Bjoergen did not disappoint local fans and powered to victory in the ladies' competition as she edged out Slovenia's Katja Visnar and compatriot Maiken Caspersen Falla."I'm really happy with the competition and that I skied technically very well," Bjoergen said to langrenn.com
Petter Northug competed for the first time since the Norwgian nationals in Voss in in January and was eliminated in the semi-finals with Christoph Eigenmann. In the finals Eigenmann grabbed the victory as he beat compatriot Jöri Kindschi.
