The defending FIS Tour de Ski winner and Overall World Cup winner Dario Cologna has had a good training summer. The Swiss Cross-Country team kicked off the training year in early May in Mallorca and in Magglingen. In June Cologna and Co. trained at Stelvio and Seefeld and July featured participation in the Blink festival 2012 in Sandnes. On July 14th Dario Cologna's fan club organize second edition of Cologna day.
"We kicked off the ten-day training camp in Sandnes with three roller skiing competitions. Unfortunately the races did not turn out well for me and in the mass start competition I had to deal with some bad luck," Dario Cologna commented on the competitions in Sandnes.
"In the training units the weekend after I noticed my shape was getting better. Flat landscape with a few hills around Sandnes is perfect for long roller skiing tour. An exceptionally nice one went along the sea coast," Cologna wrote on his website.
After the training camp in Norway the Swiss ace is back at home in Davos before heading to another training block next week. "After hard roller skiing training sessions my arms need some rest. I'm looking forward to training at home before we go in late August to Oberhof. On August 5th I will start the next high altitude block at first in Mottas Muragl and then in Flüelapass," Cologna revealed.
