The summer training period is in the full swing for the FIS Cross-Country World Cup winner 2011/12. “The first two training month were very good. I did a lot of solid workouts with the emphasize on long units,” Marit Bjoergen wrote on her website.
Since June 24th the Norwegian ace has been training in Italy where she is laying foundations for training in fall and good shape in the winter. “In July and August there will be still a lot of volume training but also harder training sessions than in early summer,” Bjoergen revealed.
In the view of the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme in 2013 Marit Bjoergen plans to spend more time in high altitude. “Altogether I plan to be in the height 80-100 days since June until the World Champs in Italy,” Marit Bjoergen revealed.
After the week at Seiser Alm the ladies’ team moved to Livigno for another seven days. After this training block Marit Bjoergen will take a few days off at Lago di Garda and Venice.
