14th of August 2012 - The Austrian based long distance ski team Skinfit Racing prepares for the first races and another training camp in the eastern Tyrolean mountains.

After several camps around Austria team athletes and coaches are at home for 5 days to collect some energy for the upcoming days / weeks.

The next three week period will start on Saturday with a classic 9k uphill race in Salzburg, followed by a skating pursuit race on Sunday over 50k on a challenging motor sports circuit.

Both races are part of the Austrian cross country cup and same time also the Austrian roller skiing championships. Strong athletes from different countries are expected – also the whole Skinfit Racing team will pass the start line on Saturday.

Immediately after the races in Salzburg, the team will move to Obertilliach (where the Classic styled Dolomitenlauf is held every year) for another 8 days of intensive team workout.

After camps in Italy, Ramsau, Nove Mesto and Oberhof the joined training in Obertilliach will be the 5th camp for the international team. In a total the team will have 10 camps with more then 108 training days.

“Training together and having intensive workouts in a group are very important for the winter. That’s why we’ve that many days together. At every camp the athletes get high class support from 4 coaches and a physical therapist, which allows high training intensity” says Manfred Hierschläger, athletic director.

After Obertilliach will be a gap of 5 days in which athletes can relax at home before the team will move for the next camp to Stephanie Santer’s hometown Toblach.

“We’re really looking forward to this camp. Many team members had been there for training or racing in winter – everybody is impressed of this beautiful landscape around the Dolomites” says Marc Hager, Team Director of Skinfit Racing Team.
