Friday, 3 August 2012 will mark the 200-day milestone for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships to start in Val di Fiemme (ITA). From 20th February until 3rd March, the world's best cross-country skiers, ski jumpers and nordic combined athletes will be competing on Italian snow for the third time in less than 20 years.
Next to FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 and 2003, Val di Fiemme has organized more than 100 FIS World Cup races as well as the Tour de Ski over the past 20 years.
Also during the past season, the Organizers have prepared well for this major event: “We're definitely satisfied with the pre-Worlds season,” President Pietro De Godenz said in reference to the FIS Tour de Ski finals, the ladies’ and men’s Ski Jumping World Cups and the Nordic Combined World Cup hosted in Val di Fiemme in 2012.
On the road to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the Prix Nordic Combined Summer Grand will be held in Predazzo (ITA) on 29th August where the stadium Giuseppe Dal Ben and the streets of the centre of Predazzo will be celebrating ski jumping and ski roller champions.
Further information on the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 and the FIS Summer Grand Prix can be found on the official Fiemme2013 website.
