70.000 fans saw victory of Petter Northug in 30 km Pursuit

Incredible number of Cross-Country skiing fans found their way on Sunday to the Holmenkollen national arena to watch the 30 km Pursuit Men.

In total 70.000 cheered on Petter Northug and saw his victory in the last meters of the race over Russians Maxim Vylegzhanin and Ilia Chernousov.

Totally sold out stadium welcomed only part of the 70.000 crowd. Thousands of spectators stood alongside the track, camped in the forest or followed the race at famous Frognerseteren. Only in the forest there were more than 15.000 Cross-Country skiing fans. 55.000 spectators used the subway to Holmenkollen and Frognersetern between 08:00 and 12:00.
