Arianna Follis (ITA) has been part of the World Cup circus since 2001 and is still showing great shape. She is currently ranked 6th in the Overall Tour de Ski Standing, but refuse to admit she is good.
"I have done fairly well in Tour de Ski so far, I am not in the first position but it is OK" a careful Follis summarize Tour de Ski on the rest day. Follis won the sprint finals in Düsseldorf, and came second in Davos, now she hopes to do a decent race tomorrow; "I will do my best and hope to do well, we will see after the race".
The Italian lady has had a great World Cup season till now, competing in 9 World Cups and being on the podium 6 times. In Düsseldorf, the Italian team took a surprising victory in teams sprint ahead of Norway and Canada. Follis explains her great shape with a good preparation phase before the season started. "My preparations are always the same, and I will say my season are going OK so far. We train very hard during summer, and start skiing in September. From September to the season starts we try to do as much skiing as possible".
Follis is happy to be back in her home country, but does not have much time for relaxing, despite the rest day. "Although it is a rest day, we train during the day and test all our skis. We do not have time for relaxing, sleeping or shopping" a laughing Follis reveals. Follis and Longa in great shape are of course important to the home spectators watching them tomorrow, and Follis says she is looking forward to compete on home soil. "Usually I like the support from the spectators, them cheering for me is always good. I hope there will be loads of spectators tomorrow and Wednesday" Follis says. Her favorite stages during Tour de Ski is in her own country, with the two next stages coming up in Toblach. "Skating race are always better for me, so I am very excited about tomorrow and Wednesday" a smiling Follis says before she rushs off to her training.
