Norwegian media are reporting that Astrid Jacobsen will continue racing on World Cup level until Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014.

The twenty-four skier from Oslo will also return to university to pursue medical studies. “The last season, I had a 100 percent leave of absence from my medical school courses. After the summer break, I will return to my studies part-time, if my petition to study at 50 percent is granted,” Jacobsen said to Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten.

At the end of the season 2010/11 Jacobsen was not sure about her future career and considered stepping down. Norwegian Cross-Country team is to be announced tomorrow, on Friday 29 before the very last Cross-Country race, Skarverrenet. Astrid Jacobsen should be part of it.
