Goodbye Fiemme, welcome Falun

It started with snow and ended with sun. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Val di Fiemme 2013.

The heroic race of Johan Olsson seemed to be a perfect invitation to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Falun 2015 in Sweden.  After twelve days of world class skiing and unforgettable sporting moments, it was time to close the Fiemme 2013 Worlds.

Some members of the Italian finance police, accompanied by a solemn music, brought down both the Italian and FIS flag, which was then hold by six members of the Organizing Committee of Fiemme 2013. They had the honor – and responsibility – to pass it to Piero de Godenz, Executive President of Fiemme 2013. He waved it for the last time, passed it to FIS President Gian Franco Kasper who did the same, and finally handed it to Sven von Holst, CEO of Falun 2015 as representatives of the future Organizers.

The President of FIS greeted Val di Fiemme and welcomed Falun 2015 in six different languages. The sun was shining and the official hymn of Fiemme 2013 was played in the stadium to say goodbye to everyone.
