Virpi Kuitunen will not figure in the result lists upcoming winter. In fact, Virpi Kuitunen will not appear at all. On Friday the former Finnish star married Jari Sarasvuo in Vanajanlinna in Hämeenlinna and became Mrs Virpi Sarasvuo.
100 family guests and wokring colleagues were invited for the weddine. Kuitununen and Sarasvuo have been a couple since the beginning of last winter and engaged in Äkäslompolo in northern Finland in Christmas.
Few details have leaked from the wedding, but it was not a traditional bridal waltz. Instead, they beat the newlyweds with Latin rhythms on the dance floor in Vanajanlinna, where several famous Finnish citizens have married earlier.
Among the guests was Virpi‘s former national team colleague, Aino-Kaisa Saarinen, who left directly from the wedding for a training camp in Italy. They both won World Championships gold in the team sprint together in Liberec 2009.
