Swiss Olympic Champion and double Tour de Ski winner Dario Cologna is ready for the World Cup Final of which three stages take place in Falun.

Cologna has had a great season with the victory in Tour de Ski 2011 and triumph in the Overall and Distance World Cup standings. However, World Championships in Oslo did not go as planned and the 24 year-old Swiss had to go home without a medal. “We had some problems in Oslo. My shape was good and I wanted a medal. Unfortunately I didn’t make it,” said Dario Cologna at the press conference in Falun.

In spite of not having won a medal Cologna evaluates the season 2010/11 positively. “It has been the best season I’ve ever had with Tour de Ski victory and triumph in the Overall and Distance World Cup standings. I hope I will produce some good results also in Falun,” he said to the media yesterday.

World Cup Final continues today in Falun with the second stage, 3.3 km prologue that will determine King of Mördebacken. “I think I’m in a good shape. I’m ready for the race and also for the other stages in Falun. I think I can be strong and even win the World Cup Final” said Cologna.

World Cup season 2010/11 is rushing to its end and Dario Cologna is looking forward to have a rest. “When I come home from Sweden I’m going to train a little and will take part in the Swiss Nationals in Les Mosses, which we have next weekend. After that the season will be over for me and I will go for a vacation,” concluded Cologna.
