Zrece, 26 May (SLO) - Slovenian Cross-Country skier Petra Majdic, who won bronze at the Vancouver Olympics despite a serious injury, announced on Wednesday that she would continue her career.
Majdic has recently been particularly concerned with rehabilitation and considerations on how to continue her career. The medical team is of an opinion that training will help faster recovery from the injury. Majdic decided to continue at least one year more.

"What particularly bothered me was that I had not said good bye properly. That I waved goodbye, but I was forced to do so. Moreover, in the meantime I said to myself that it must be me who decides when and how I end my career. Therefore I want to continue at least another year . It has been my condition and my desire to continue with the same team and, according to the Slovenian Ski Association a new contract with my coach Jan Hudac and my service man Gian-Luca Marcolini." said Petra Majdic to Slovenian media.
Big Goals for 2010/11
The main objective for next season is to capture the big crystal globe for the overall World Cup Cross-Country winner. "It's true. I already have a medal from the World Championships, I have an Olympic medal, I have a small crystal globe for winning the sprint standings, in the overall standings I've been second, third, fourth. I am full aware that to claim the overall victory will be extremely difficult. But I will try. I have gathered around me one of the best teams in the world. I hope that this team will stay with the Slovenian Ski Association when I leave skiing for good. " explained Majdic.
