Before today’s Royal Palace Sprint in Stockholm Emil Jonsson got a phone call. Swedish king Carl Gustav called.

“He apologized that he could not attend the sprint this year, but asked me to run for the "King and Country"! So I will just obey the king and simply run like crazy,” wrote Emil Joensson on his web page.

Joensson has alredy secured victory in the Sprint World Cup and will be one of the biggest favorites today, but he admits it will be hard to win.

One of those who want to beat him is of course World Championships king Petter Northug. Emil Jönsson will try carry on success from Lahti, where he won both the sprint and secured his second straight victory in the sprint World Cup.
