Based on the information on Emil Joensson's twitter account, the defending Sprint World Cup Champion will skip upcoming FIS World Cup weekend in Kuusamo.

Joensson got injured in the middle of October during the high altitude training in Livigno. During one of the fast workouts he felt cramps in his back thigh. A medical check done later revealed a small burst within the back thigh toward the bum. Joensson adjusted training program and planned to jump in the World Cup circuit in Kuusamo.

Today he informed, that he would start the season later and would skip the first sprint competition of the season, which is scheduled on Monday in Kuusamo, as the first stage of a three-day event Ruka Triple. As Joensson wrote on his twitter, he decided to sit out Kuusamo not to risk anything. I'm training at full speed and the season will be long, Joensson wrote.
