27th International FIS ski marathon Europe-Asia took place last Sunday on March, 7-th,2010 in Russia. 53-km skating course of this unique marathon had start in Europe near Pervouralsk, crossed beautiful Ural mountains and finished in Asia in Russian industrial capital Ekaterinburg.
Start of this race was done near big monument, which was appeared at the geographical border between Europe and Asia in 1846. Good prepared track, nice sunny weather with -7 degrees at the start made this competition not too difficult and enjoyable for 500 skiers who finished on the Ekaterinburg's square.
Lots of spectators looked for big musical performance and colorful awarding ceremony near the finish line. Russian Olympic Champion Zinaida Amosova presented different prizes to winners. Special prices were presented to local ski clubs. Winner of skating Konig-Ludwig-Lauf-2010 Vadim Nesterov won first place 2.09.52,
Natalia Chumakova had women's first place, her time is 2.27.56 (both from Ural region of Russia).
