First part of Latvian Rollerski Nationals in Madona

Last weekend "Smecersils" sports centre at Madona hosted first part of the Latvian Rollerski Nationals.

More than 90 athletes divided to 10 age groups from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania took part in the nationals. In the elite class Arvis Liepins dominated the 4x2,5 km Free competition and won in 19:14.98 sec, more than one minute ahead of Janis Teteris and Ivo Caune.

On the ladies’ side Natalia Kovalova was fighting hard in the 3x2 km competion with Zane Eglite. Kovalova beat Eglite with a tiny margin of +00:00,16 sec. Kristina Kazlaskaite grabbed the bronze medal.

Second part of Latvian Championship with interval competitions in classical technique takes place on August 20 in Priekulu Cross-Country and biathlon center.
