The FIS World Cup Cross-Country (December 3-4) is one of the great, international tourist attractions for the sports city of Dusseldorf.

The ski spectacle on the border of the Rhine River provides impressive numbers in its tenth year too. The anniversary event will be broadcast live on ZDF on both days and to about 25 countries world-wide.

This year, particularly Dutch visitors are being targeted by the sportAgentur. In a special, joint activity with the Dutch advertising paper network ACMedia more than 700,000 Dutch households from Enschede to Eindhoven will be approached during November.

Besides the expected tens of thousands of spectators on site, the FIS World Cup Cross-Country will also once again enjoy world-wide coverage in the media. Up to now media representatives from Norway, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, the USA and the near East have requested accreditation. The organising trio of sportAgentur Dusseldorf, allrounder mountain resort GmbH Neuss and the regional West German Ski Association are reckoning with more than 100 media representatives from 20 nations.

Altogether 150 athletes from 16 nations will fight for victory in the individual and team events on the border of the Rhine. In addition to the thrilling sprint races at top level a multifaceted programme around the course will guarantee great entertainment – as every year free of charge for all visitors.
