FIS Rollerski World Cup kicks off this week at Markkleeberger See

FIS Rollerski World Cup takes place in Markkleeberg for the fourth time since 2007. More than 100 athletes from 10 countries will take part in the rollerski season opener.

Markklereberg will host a three day event starting on Friday with a prologue Free. On Saturday there will be a follow up with Sprint Free 165m. First World Cup weekend will end with a Pursuit Free.

Sports activities

As part of the side program of the World Cup weekend in Markkleberg a festival opening of the new water sports facility in the Auenhain bay. Visitors and fans will enjoy and explore the lake with a wakeboard. In addition, on receipt of a certificate of sailing boats can be rented. Rollerski producers prepared a testing program.

Klassik am See

On 19 June from 21.00 it will be time for culture - the Midsummer's Eve concert. After the successful first edition in 2009, the West Saxon Lake Symphony Orchestra will deliver this time an "Italian Night". Classics of Italian opera will be played including Verdi's Nabucco and La Traviata or Puccini's Turandot and many more.
