Special remarks to the participants

For the first time only 50 best of the overall World Cup ranking plus the Continentalcup winners and the U23 World Champions are allowed to compete in the World Cup Final. Despite that rule we have also some sick athletes like Claudia Nystad, Nicole Fessel, Jens Filbrich and Astrid Jacobsen who will be not at the start of tomorrow's World Cup final kick off in Stockholm.
For René Sommerfeldt (GER) the World Cup Final will be the last competitions in the World Cup series. The German former overall World Cup winner will stopp his career after this season. Already not competiting anymore is Sarah Renner, who quite right after the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Race Director Jürg Capol's remark

The World Cup Final will be interesting. Tomorrow we will have the sprint with the best athletes of the overall World Cup what means that the about 20 best sprinters of the season will be present.
Stockholm is well prepared, the snow is already on the street and the athletes made the first training loop. We expect a cold night what guarantees us hard and compact tracks. During the day we will have degrees around +1 and +2 C.
Among the favourites are Marit Bjoergen (NOR) and Justyna Kowalczyk (POL), even if Kowalcyzk is a bit sick. On the men's side Emil Joensson is the big favourite beside the Russian's and the Norwegians.
