German sprint Championships in Oberwiesenthal

On 28 and 29 December the German Cross-Country skiing elite will meet in Oberwiesenthal to find the new German champion in individual and team sprints. German athletes will compete with international participants too.

International starting fiels

157 entries were registered at the official deadline on 23 December, for the 11th German sprint championships in cross-country skiing. Big names of the German Cross-Country skiing will come to the ski area Fichtelberg - which us the highest peak in Saxony with 1215 meters above the sea level. World Cup experienced René Sommerfeldt, Claudia Nystad and Tom Reichelt will be on start. Also Manuela Henkel, Nicole Fessel, Hanna Lucia Anger and Denise Kolb, Monique Siegel, Erik and Lars Hanel and Oliver Wünsch, will be among the national team in the sprint F and team sprint C. Oliver Kraas of South Africa, Lefteris Fafalis, husband of ex top Cross-Country skier Viola Bauer, from Greece and athletes from the neighboring Czech Republic will give the German Championships an international dimension.
