During the second edition of Ruka Triple, www.fiscrosscountry.com brought the experience of watching Cross-Country skiing races one step further.
Similar to the Tour de France the fans could follow the entire race in real time on their computers or their mobile devices and track their selected athletes.
The online GPS tracking enables to select individual athletes and follow their actual location on the track, their speed, distance to other selected competitors in the race and plenty of other features. Replay of the whole race and post-race analysis are also possible.
More than 1000 Cross-Country skiing fans followed and used the GPS tracking feature during the competitions at Ruka Triple.
GPS tracking at FIS Tour de Ski
The developing partner of the GPS tracking feature has been working hard on making the feature better and more sophisticated. On the Tour de Ski, the GPS tracking will be available during the Cortina-Toblach competition and of course for the Final Climb on Alpe Cermis.
On Thursday, January 5th simply click on the home page on the desired race in the "GPS Tracking" yellow box and a pop-up window will appear with a course map and a list of athletes. What you need to do then is only to select your desired athletes and follow them live.
