Justyna Kowalczyk opens the season with a win

Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland has opened the season today with a victory in the classical sprint in Muonio. Mona Liisa Malvalehto of Finland finished second ahead of compatriot Anne Kylloenen.
On the men's side skiers of Kazakhstan celebrated a triple victory as Alexey Poltoranin powered to win ahead of team mates Nikoly Chebotko and Denis Volotka.
