Kowalczyk won the award "athlete of the year" in Poland

Justyna Kowalczyk took first place in the 77th award, "Review of Sports" as Polish Athlete of the Year 2011.

There is no doubt that Justyna Kowalczyk is a great athlete back home in her country Poland. With a big fan club present in Val di Fiemme, Kowalczyk has become one of the biggest Polish athletes, and yesterday she was offically awarded as one.

By winning Tour de Ski two times in a row, two silver medals at the World Ski Championships in Oslo and the overall World Cup last year, Kowalczyk definitely deserved this award. On the day when the award was announced, she took her third stage win in this sitxth edition of Tour de Ski, and could celebrate in front of excited Polish spectators.
