The defending FIS Cross-Country World Cup champion Justyna Kowalczyk is training in Ramsau.
The Polish ace went to the Austrian training center for the second time. She had carried out there the training in late May and early June. This time Kowalczyk is planning to train in Ramsau till the end of the month.
“We like to train here. Workouts are more intensive than in the spring. The camp in Ramsau is the key last point of the preparation before the season. Later on, we will hardly have time to carry out such a tough training camp,” Kowalczyk’s coach Alexander Wierietielny explained.
Wierietielny prepared for Kowalczyk a series of tough and long workouts to build up adequate strength before the season. Justyna Kowalczyk admits that off-season training is very demanding. “Summer training camps are extremely difficult. In winter the training load is not that intensive or at least not every day. Sometimes in the summer, I am indeed looking forward to winter,” Justyna Kowalczyk admits.
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup kicks off in 44 days in Beitostoelen, Norway with 10 km Free Individual Start on November 19.
