Malvalehto and Jönsson win the qualification round

Mona-Lisa Malvalehto (FIN) and Emil Jönsson (SWE) have won the qualification round in Liberec, Czech. In the ladies qualifier, Malvalehto stopped the clock in 2:04.06, winning by +3.35 ahead of 4-time Tour de Ski champion Justyna Kowalczyk (POL) and in third was Katja Visnar (SLO) +4.50 behind the lead.
World Cup sprint leader, Jönsson completed the 1.6 km course in a time of 3:25.8. Just +0.38 seconds back in second place was Eirik Brandsdal (NOR) and in third +1.50 back was Anssi Pentsinen (FIN).
