Roger Wax, chief of Swiss waxing staff was the man with biggest joy as he presented to his Swiss Cross-Country team colleagues the brand new waxing truck.
"The many working hours have paid off, with this new waxing truck we will make a great step forward," Roger Wax is convinced. Until now the Swiss waxing staff has been working in containers provided by organising committees. Limited working space and unhealthy conditions are now history. The truck will offer not only bigger space but also enable more effective ski preparation. As the skiing material will not have to be moved to waxing containers, the spared time can be used for more testing.
"The first impression is very good. First of all the truck is much bigger than a container and it is obviously a big benefit when we will have more time for testing," the team leader Dario Cologna pointed out.
In order to match Swiss Ski team needs, a lot of commitment was needed. Starting from Cross-Country boss Hippolyt Kempf and the boss of performance sport Dirk Biesel, who pushed strongly for the acquisition of the truck, to the Swiss Ski Ski pool that financially supported the project and the association's sponsor Alpiq, which took care of all the electronically instalments.
"I would like to thank everybody involved. Without the good team it would be impossible. Our waxing truck is not a symbol of a status. It's a highly functional working tool that will help in our jobs," Roger Wax concluded.
