Norway’s national Cross-Country and biathlon opening on 11-13 November in Beitostølen is in danger of being canceled.
“The jury meeting takes place in Beitostølen on Wednesday, but there must be a sudden change of weather conditions if there is supposed to be any race. As it looks today, there may be cancellation of the opening weekend. We hope, of course the conditions to change within the next 48 hours and are waiting for the final decision on Wednesday. There are still good chances for FIS World Cup opening to be carried out as planned,” event manager of the Norwegian Ski Federation, Terje Lund said.
Beitostølen traditionally hosts national Cross-Country opening. Many national teams take part in the races, which are one of the last tests before the start of FIS Cross-Country World Cup season.
