Top Czech cross-country skiers meet in Liberec-Vesec at Czech national championships in mountain running and rollerskiing. Complete Czech national team is there except Lukas Bauer and Jiri Magal.
"Bauer cannot start due to injury and Magal did not enter the championships" explained chief of organizers Jitka Bartonova to Czech media. Yesterday's mountain running race started in Liberec - Vesec and had finish 6,5 km later on Jested, which hosted jumping competitions of the World Champs in 2009.
First title in the ladies' race claimed Eva Nyvltova ahead of Austrian Katerina Smutna. Nyvltova opened up a big gap on Smutna and edged her out by 24 seconds. Third on the podium was Klara Moravcova who lost on the winner 1:23.2 sec.
On the men's side it was Martin Jaks who won with a decisive gap of 57 sec. Ondrej Horyna finished second and Martin Koukal claimed third place with 1:09.6 gap.
Czech national championships continue today with rolleski races. Men will start their competition over 20km at 11:10.
