Olympic and World Champion Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle could take a break in the forthcoming FIS Cross-Country World Cup season.

“She has behind a tough year and the biggest goal lies in Sochi. There is no title event next year and she might take it more easy,” said German head coach Jochen Behle to the Sport Information Service (SID).

Sachenbacher-Stehle had last season stomach problems. In December, she was diagnosed with intolerance to various food, including eggs and wheat. She skipped the FIS Tour de Ski and jumped back in the World Cup circuit in Rybinsk and Drammen. At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo she scored two 13 places in 15 km Skiathlon and 30 km Mass Start and claimed fifth place with the German relay.
