Petra Majdic continues dominance and wins third stage of Tour de Barents

Petra Majdic remains uneatable at the second edition of Tour de Barents and wins Stage 3 in Rovaniemi.

Petra Majdic took her 3rd stage victory in Tour De Barents and dominatey classical sprint. She controlled all heats, but in final Kerttu Niskanen (2nd) and Alena Prochazkova (3rd) try to challenge the FIS Sprint World Cup 2010/11 winner.  “I think I pushed too hard in the semifinal, and I felt tired int  final”, Majdic explained. ”I  concentrated on my tactic in the finals. I followed what Kerttu and Alena were doing and I tried to respond to their speed,” she explained.

Majdic extended lead in Tour de Barents and will have in the last stage advantage of +1:12.4 min on runner up Kerttu Niskanen (FIN). Alena Prochazkova has moved in third position +1:39.0 min behind the leader.

Tour de Barents concludes tomorrow with the last stage in Ounusvaara with 8.8 km Free final climb.
