The Slovenian cross-country skier Petra Majdic will be awared a state medal for outstanding contribution to her home country. It is second highest Slovenian state medal. The 30-year-old had won despite four broken ribs bronze medal in classical sprint. "She showed fighting spirit and endurance, she showed what is possible and necessary to achieve a sporting goal. It is a unique achievement for the entire Slovenian sport," said President Danilo Turk after the cabinet decision: she is a "model for young generation." he added.
