Petukhov and Korosteleva claim sprint titles at Russian Champs in Sochi

Today marked the start of the Russian National Championships in Sochi.  The championships will consist of two races, a free technique sprint and skiathlon.

First up today was the sprints. Alexey Petukhov took first place ahead of Mikhail Devyatjarov in second, and the 2010 Olympic champ Nikita Krukov in third.

Natalia Korosteleva won sprint for the ladies by a large margin.  In second was Anna Povalaeva, and in third Valentina Novikova. 

Reports from the athletes are that the courses are really tough and here only the strongest athlete can win.  Complete results will be posted when made available.
