It will be around 0°C the whole night and also on the day. The rain should stop this afternoon and tomorrow during the race we expect cloudy weather and temperatures around +1 C.
Special remarks to the participants:
In total 55 athletes from 22 nations are expected to be at the start tomorrow. Curdin Perl from Switzerland is sick, he went already home and will not compete in the 50 km race.
Race Director Jürg Capol's remark:
As the Olympic premiere we will have in the tomorrow's 50 km Mass start race also the ski exchange possibility three time in the pit stop area in the stadium. After having it in the World Cup and at the World Championships it is now also in the Olympic programme.
Today it was tough conditions for the ladies and we had a slow 30 km race due to this conditions. But for tomorrow we expect at least no rain or snow. The final race of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games will be for sure an highlight. The ski exchange possibility will help to make the excitement of the race even better.
To the favourites counts tomorrow for sure Petter Northug from Norway,Lukas Bauer from Czech Republic and Dario Cologna from Switzerland. The performance of the men's are so close together that a lot of other athletes have the possiblitiy to end on the poi+dium. Alex Harvey, as the home favourite might have some changes, as well as Sami Jauhojaervi (FIN), Tobias Angerer, Jens Filbrich (all GER), the Estonian Olympic Champion Andrus Veerpalu, Johan Olsson (SWE), Maxim Vylegzhanin (RUS), Jean Marc Gaillard and Vincent Vittoz (both FRA)
