Preview Sprint
Sprints are always highly interesting for fans. Nordic Focus

Used Course

Ladies: 1,4km   Men: 1,6km

Weatherforecast

It will be colder this night until -4°C and tomorrow we expect sunshine and good conditions.

Special remarks to the participants

Dario Cologna will not compete in the classical sprint to reserve his power for the other races.

Race Director Jürg Capol's remark

The classical sprint course of the ladies changed from last year to this year and is a bit more demanding. The men's course stayed the same. I expect interesting races with good and equal conditions but in sprint everything can happened. Favourites on this kind of course on the female side will be Justnya Kowalczyk, Petra Majdic, last year's winner Alena Prochatzkova and Marit Bjoergen.

Main favourite on the men's side will be Emil Joensson, who won the last sprint in Canmore, last year's sprint World Cup winner Ola Vigen Hattestad and Nikita Kriukov.

It is the first time at the Olympics a classical sprint and it is a good classical course. We expect, that the racer will use kick wax.
Additional remarks
Petter Northug will be also at the start despite having not the best shape in the 15km.
