Racing weekends started in Russia

World Cup season opener in Gällivare is coming near having only 12 days to go. Another traditional World Cup organizer in Rybinsk hosts first Russian competition this season.

On Saturday, November 6 the program of this season's racing weekend started with Sprint Classic over 1.6 km. Russian team member and sprint specialist Natalia Korosteleva left no doubts she has prepared for the season and clinched victory in the inaugural sprint. Runner up Jana Janovskaja finished ahead of Maria Davydenkova.

On the men's side side the fight took place between strong Russian sprinters. Alexander Panzhinskiy won the qualification ahead of Nikita Kriukov but it was Kriukov who had more momentum and sprint strength in the final stretch and beat Panzhinskiy. Andrey Parfenov finished third.
