Sweden's Daniel Richardsson had a best season opening in his career and for the first time won the first competition of the season in Bruksvallarna. "I have never won the season opening before," Richardsson said to www.sweski.com after the victory in 10 km Classic.
Marcus Hellner laid down a good performance and finished in the second place. "It was an OK opening," he said having Saturday's free technique competition in sight. Lars Nelson became the surprise of the day as he landed on the third place and edged out to fourth place Canada's super star Alex Harvey.
Emma Wikén got a strong start into new season and powered to surprising victory. Wikén grabbed victory in 12:33.1 and edged out by +2.4 seconds Sweden's best lady Charlotte Kalla to second place. Ida Ingemarsdotter came in the finish +9.3 sec off the pace and took thir place.
