It is widely known and respected that Norway's Kristin Stoermer Steira belongs to the best cross-country skiing athletes.
Beside cross-country skiing Kristin has ambitions in light athletics. And she has high chances to succeed. Last year she captured Norwegian national title over 5.000 m and finished in a fairly good time of 16:01.7. For this season she has another goal: to qualify for the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona which takes place from July 27 to August 1. Kristin Steira is still a few seconds down from the national qualification limit. She can meet the criteria at a competition with good start field. "It is very good for my motivation. Summer can be a bit long and it's good to spice it up with competitions in running." said Kristin to Norwegian media. For 29-year-old Norwegian star the biggest goal remains though home World Championships in Oslo 2011.
