Therese Johaug powers to victory in today's 15 km skiathlon at the Norwegian national championships in Voss. Marthe Kristoffersen powers to silver medal. Kristin Stoermer Steira claims bronze medal.
Johaug was in command for the most part of the skiathlon competition. After the ski exchange she had a comfortable lead of 25 seconds on Marthe Kristoffersen and Martine Ek Hagen.
Johaug came in the home straight with a margin of +21.4 sec on Marthe Kristoffersen who spurted over Kristin Steira. "It was a good skiing today even though I felt little bit stressed in the first half. My goal was to keep the hard pace but with good technique. You have to work with your head as well when you don't see any skiers in front," Johaug said to NRK.
Today's victory is the fourth gold medal at the Norwegian nationals. Marit Bjoergen did not start today.
