During the last few years Teodor Petterson and Emil Joensson occupied the highest spot on the podium of the Bruksvallarna sprint. This year, the fight for the victory was again about these two skiers and Teodor Peterson was faster in the finishing stretch.
Andreas Karossen, Peterson's teammates from Asarna Ski Club, opened strongly the sprint finals and led the way until the halfway point. In the last climb Peterson went in the lead and strongly went away all the way to the finish. Joensson claimed second place as Calle Halfvarson was third.
Ida Ingemarsdotter powered to home win as she was quicker in the sprint finish than the Canada's Olympic Champion Chandra Crawford. Katja Visnar of Slovenia took third place.
"During the day I got better and better and I feel I have still something left to show next weekend in Gällivare," Ingemarsdotter said to www.sweski.com.
“I feel really positive about where I am right now for sure,” said Crawford, who won her first individual podium in three seasons last year when she was second in Rogla, Slovenia. “I feel so strong from the adversity I’ve been though <in my career>. There is so much out there that can go wrong and when you get through it you are just so appreciative of the opportunities you have.”Includes contributions by www.sweski.com and Press Release of Cross-Country Canada
