The CEO of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun 2015, Sven von Holst, has presented the structure for the organisation and announced new key figures. Among them, Sports Directors Tommy Höglund and Anki Kjellberg.
– We are at a stage where the organisation is starting to take shape and gain momentum. It feels great to have so many dedicated and competent people with us. The new Sports Directors, as well as the other newcomers in the organization, will gradually be more and more involved in the practical matters, says Sven von Holst and points out the importance of the fact that the foundation of the sport organisation’s structure has been established.
– I’m very glad to have Tommy Höglund and Anki Kjellberg on board as Sports Directors. Tommy Höglund has done very competent work as Sports Director for Vasaloppet, and Anki Kjellberg has been a very capable Secretary General of the World Cup Falun. Having them on my team makes me feel safe.
Tommy Höglund will do work for both Vasaloppet and the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun. He will start out working mostly for Vasaloppet but gradually shift his focus to the Nordic World Ski Championships.
– It will be an exciting task to work with the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun and to create the best ski championships ever, with Anki Kjellberg and the others. People in Falun and Dalarna know how to arrange cross-country competitions. The challenge lies in arranging equally good competitions in both ski jumping as well as Nordic combined. I’m sure we’ll do just fine, says Tommy Höglund.
Anki Kjellberg is looking forward to working with Tommy Höglund.
– It is very inspiring and I’m sure we will complement each other well. Furthermore, we are both used to working in large non-profit organizations and that is very important in this context.
