Currently the 97th edition of the Tour de France - the biggest cycling event in the world is underway since 3rd of July. The tour takes year by year the sports world and their fans into their ban.
Also the Cross-Country family is following the Tour with a big interest on TV and on-side and are impressed by the well-organized event and the outstanding performances of the riders.
While the French Cross-Country stars were watching the Tour in the Jura and as well in La Clusaz, when they passed their home region, Two young Norwegian Cross-Country athletes, Daniel Myrmael Helgestad and Tore B. Berdal, used the chance to follow their countryman Thor Hushovd and the entire Cervélo TestTeam in the training ride in Morzine on the rest day on Monday. For sure a unique training session for the youngsters, which are currently for training in France!
But not only the Cross-Country athletes are looking what the cyclist are doing also the cross-over also works in the opposite direction: Some of the riders are also using Cross-Country skiing in the winter as a preparation for the cycling season like for example Tour de France stage winner 2009 and Cervélo TestTeam rider Heinrich Haussler, who made in the past winters Cross-Country session in December in St. Moritz.
