Tragic accident on Alpe Cermis

Late on Friday night, 4th January 2013, a tragic accident occurred above the finish area of the FIS Tour de Ski Final Climb on Alpe Cermis (ITA). A ski-doo accident claimed the lives of six Russian visitors spending their New Year’s holidays in the Valley of Fiemme.
FIS fully supports the decision of the Tour de Ski Val di Fiemme Organizing Committee to proceed with the sporting activities for the 6th and 7th stage of the FIS Tour de Ski 2013 as scheduled on Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th January 2013, but cancel the planned side events to respect the memory of the victims and the situation of the two persons who were severely injured.
FIS sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victims.
