The Olympic champion Dario Cologna interviewed by Swiss newspaper Engadiner Post. He talks about leisure time, goals for upcoming season, collaboration with Fredrik Aukland, being focused and much more.
Here is a short selection of the interview which you will find HERE (in German)
Q: Dario, what about your sprint abilities. Your biggest rival Petter Northug seems to have and advantage
Dario Cologna: I do not think that sprint is my weakness. Petter Northug is clearly the best in the final sprint, there is no doubt about that. Otherwise, there are not many that are faster than me.Q: How important is tactics in the competition?
D.C. Sure, the right tactics can make a difference, especially in mass start races. But I think that ultimately it is power that decides. If you suddenly loos pace and force, best tactics will not help you to win.Q: Last year you triumphed in the World Cup, this year you captured Olympic gold in Vancouver. Will the World Champion title follow in Oslo?
D.C.: I'm working on it. To win the world championship gold in Norway, the birthplace of Nordic skiing, is for a cross-country athlete the biggest goal. I'm already looking forward to World Championships in Oslo where I believe the mood will be unique.
