VENUE DESCRIPTION
Surrounded by Switzerland in the east and the Ain Mountains in the south, the Jura massif, with an altitude exceeding 800 meters, is the most authentic of the French mountain ranges with forests covering 80 % of the land, villages nestled at the bottom of the valleys, farms scattering the landscape, the famous "Montbeliarde" cows and the sound of their bells...

In winter, skiers discover a Nordic ski paradise and the beauty of a preserved wilderness. There are more than 2,000 km (1,245 miles) of well-maintained ski tracks, going through gorgeous natural areas, along lakes or on wide plateaus with views of the Alps. Several of our well-known winter sport resorts such as Les Rousses and Metabief-Mont d'Or, just to name a few, offer downhill and cross-country skiing in picturesque scenery.
Summer season is just as attractive as winter season, thanks to the many lakes and rivers providing an open playground for outdoor recreation such as swimming, sailing, canoeing, cannoning and fishing. Our gentle hills make hiking accessible to all.

Haut-Jura region is a land awash with cultural riches, proud of their craftsmen and industrial activities and the history of the development of these activities can be observed in many local museums, giving a good insight into the development of our region. Lausanne is also at hand offering a good opportunity to discover its Olympic Museum.
The variety of our landscape is reflected in the variety of the gastronomy. The local gastronomy in our region offers a variety of specialty products: AOC cheeses, salted and smoked meats such as the smoked Morteau sausage, spirits, gentian liquor, Mouthe's famous gingerbread, honey...
Possibilities are endless in Haut-Doubs & Haut-Jura, we invite you to come and discover for yourselves the rich diversity of our region!
