VENUE DESCRIPTION

The town Nove Mesto na Morave is located on the middle of Czech republic in the mountains Ceskomoravska vysocina. For ski fans has this resort nickname "Ski heart of Vysocina." The high lovel of the town is only 600 metres above see. The highest village on this region Studnice (6 km from Nove Mesto) is located 784 metres above see.

The snow condition in this region are very well. Winter season with snow starts here normally in the middle of December and finish in middle of March.

Nove Mesto is popular resort for cross country skiing. The tourists skiers find here about 100 kilometres courses. But this region is a friendly ski area for down hill skiing. Close from cross country stadium is snow-park best suited for beginners, intermediates improving their skills and families.

But Nove Mesto na Moravě isn´t in winter only center of skiing. Seven years ago was this cross country stadium rebuild for biathlon too. This season will be in Nove Mesto in January first biathlon World cup and in February 2013 will be here World championship.

Now is bulding new tracks with high level for cross country skiing and for biathlon, new wide roads, park places, new grand stands and press center for more journalists.

Nove Mesto has about 10.000 citizens. The region offer accommodation for 10.000 visitors. The other possibilty for accommodations are in towns Jihlava (48 km) and Brno with a lot of hotels four and five stars (65 km).

STADIUM AND COURSES

The stadium is situated approximately 2 km from the center of Nove Mesto na Morave next to the hotel SKI. On the stadium there is 4 new tribunes with capacity of more than 10 000 spectators and new wax cabines is bilding too as well. Competition will be organizing on the new courses which is on the both side of the road from Nove Mesto to Vlachovice by using two tunnels. Length of the track will be prepared 5 km loop for Saturday´s competition and 2,5 km classic loop and 2,5 km skate loop for Sunday´s competition

Competition in Nove Mesto called KajotBet Zlatá lyže is one of the most famous race in the Czech republic. About 20 000 spectators visited each year.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Nove Mesto na Morave has a long skiing tradition. In year 1895 was founded first club. First race with name Golden Ski (nordic skiing) was in year 1934. In Nove Mesto was in zero season 1980 first cross country skiing World Cup. In this year visited Nove Mesto the founder of World Cup and fames journalist Werner Kirchhofer.

In this summer in Nove Mesto at first time World Cup of mountain bike (August),

and World Championship in summer Biathlon (September).

HOW TO GET TO NOVE MESTO

Nove Mesto na Morave is located about 170 km southeast from Prague and 70 km northwest of Brno, reachable along the motorway D1 Prague - Brno, exit Velky Beranov from Prague or exit Velka Bites towards Brno.

Railway route No. 250 Prague - Brno with a stop in the town of Zdar nad Sazavou, where it is connected to the local railway track on the route No. 251 Zdar nad Sazavou - Tisnov with a stop in Nove Mesto na Morave.

Nove Mesto na Morave is also reachable by coach lines from Prague, Brno, Jihlava and Ostrava.¨
